Technician
JOB SUMMARY
Technician role is to support engineering prototype, alpha, beta, pre-pilot, pilot unit builds and other related tasks as required to support NPD and sustaining engineering projects. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair function of electronic assemblies down to the component level according to established procedures, using computerized or standard test equipment. Connects electronics assembly, component, or part to test instrument such as multi-meter, or oscilloscope, or connects to computerized manual, semi-automatic, or automated test station, and operates test equipment. Ability to solder at the highest quality level, complying with a minimum of IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards on all work performed.
Documents on appropriate paperwork the defect
noted, or the point at which the unit failed in the test procedure, identifies
the root cause of the failure as well as any concomitant failures and repairs
all failures to restore unit to functional operation meeting all operational
specifications for the unit. Must be
able to build and repair test fixtures. Will
be required to customer interactions as necessary. Documents actions by completing production
and quality forms, conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as
needed to accomplish job results, and contributes to team effort by
accomplishing related results as needed.

Design of text fixtures, reliability test fixtures and other evaluating equipment.
Electrical wiring of prototype systems, building electrical test fixtures and conducting electrical tests
Instrumentation of prototype units, systems and fixtures including but not limited to thermocouples, transducers, force gauges, calipers etc.
Work closely with engineering and production team members to ensure accurate, efficient and timely execution of required prototyping, fabrication and testing work and drive tasked work to completion. Conduct product evaluation testing and troubleshooting at system, subsystem and component level. Conduct testing at various subsystem levels per ETPs (Engineering Test Procedures). Help conduct and setup agency tests. Ideal candidate must have proficiency in the use of soldering equipment, oscilloscopes, meters, and data loggers.
Automation of processes, including data acquisition, data reporting and testing procedures
Experience implementing motors, compressors, fans, relays, switches, harness design, and related components. Understanding of DC-DC converter circuits, amplifier circuits, temperature measurement circuits and technologies, motor control circuits utilizing relays and triacs, comparators, transformers, analog to digital conversion and vice versa
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Technical Diploma preferably with some
working experience or equivalent
Intermediate skill in the usage of computers.
Strong skill in the repair/replace of
manufacturing equipment.
Intermediate oral and written communication
skills.
Strong mechanical / electromechanical
aptitude.
Skilled at operation of hand and power tools.
